Korean BBQ Restaurant in Kitchener

Small hole in the wall but absolutely phenomenal! Great prices that are only outdone by the comparatively awesome food. Cozy, quiet and informal atmosphere and the owner was very polite. We had the beef teriyaki, bibimbap bowl and the dumplings, all of which I'd recommend. Will be back for sure!

I dined here on a Sunday night with a party of 10. The space is pretty small, but luckily we called ahead and they were able to accommodate us. I ordered the black bean noodles and tofu stew. Tofu stew was 4/5. Came out piping hot. Delicious broth, but sadly there was scarcely any seafood in the soup itself. Black bean noodles were a 2/5. They were flavourless and bland. I did not enjoy them.The real issue was the service 0/5. We kept asking for refills on the banchans and the server would just wave at our table to show they heard our request, but after delivering our ordered dishes they never returned to our tables. They even responded with an “okayyy! It’s coming” in a really irritated tone when we tried to check up on the ask. We never received refills on the banchans. After we requested multiple times, we gave up and just finished our meal. I’m surprised this place has such high reviews. The food was just ok, but the service was just plain bad.

The service was very slow, and no follow-ups while we ate to see if we wanted anything else. Not a friendly atmosphere.

Love this little Korean restaurant, owned by a very nice Korean couple. They are super friendly and the food is really good, very authentic, and a good price - so I tip well! This is my go-to spot for Korean in the KW area.

Great food needs better interior design

Easily the best chicken teriyaki dish in the area. The owners are a very nice older Korean couple who are always friendly and welcoming. I’ve been going here for years for the teriyaki and it’s the best low key spot for authentic Korean food.

The combo meals allow groups to mix & match several menu choices. Never a bad time here. Favourite Korean place in KW.

Authentic and delicious. Service is amazing, friendly, and efficient. We drove in from Guelph since there's no Korean food here. We're originally from Toronto where we enjoyed lots of Korean food on the regular, but even if we moved back to Toronto, I would drive all the way out to this place as it is by far the best I've ever had! The sundubu-jjigae and ttukbaegi bulgogi are both amazing. Highly recommended.

This is gotta be my favourite Korean restaurant in Waterloo Kitchener area. It is a bit far and pricey but coming here once a while is totally worth it. The owner is very nice also! Their kimchi is my favorite.

I have been going to this restaurant for well over 10 years now. It never lets me down! The food is fantastic, super authentic - the atmosphere is very home-like. I always feel welcome and the food is always delicious! Everything was good in here. Highly recommend.

Affordable prices with quality food. I love going here. The pork belly, bulgogi, Tteok-bokki are great! It’s a mom and pop place. I prefer going here than big Korean restaurant food chain.

I got the pork stew and it was fall off the bone! I also got the hot rice cakes, which were delicious! So good, highly recommend.

Unassuming little place. The prices are extremely good for the amount of food you get.

Very friendly service and delicious food!

One of the better places for Korean food in K-W. They offer a decent selection of Korean appetizers, soups, and entrées as well as a combo option to choose from a variety of dishes. The combo option is great if you want to try several dishes for a cheaper price, but they will use regular plates instead of the stone plates (if applicable), so the taste is not quite the same. Would recommend ordering individual full dishes for the best experience.

I will definitely be going back to Korean BBQ Restaurant. My husband and I went in and ordered a combo platter which included 3 platters, 4 sides and 2 bowls of rice. Everything was amazing. We loved the bulgogi in particular. The service was quick and the combo only cost us $30.

A mom and pop gem. Excellent bibimbap, Gabli Ribs were fantastic. Steamed dumplings very flavourful. Great price, kind service. Will come back! Highly recommend. 💖

Their kimchi is just perfect it’s not too spicy and also their bulgogi is so tasty! During the covid19 lockdown I ordered from here a bunch of times through doordash and it was tasty and perfect Except one problem, their portions are very small, like I ordered Large bulgogi and it came in looking like a small size dish from other restaurants and they put only a tiny bit of rice in a very small little container... I was surprised at that. But the food is delicious, would be nice if they put more rice and maybe made their large size dish actually large because I did pay like $19 for the large bulgogi with rice and for that price it wasn’t enough. And no I’m not fat I’m a small person who eats less than most people.

Nice combo value and great taste of Korean food!

Food tasted okay but I don't know what happened to the cabbage. It looked like there was some mold growing...

Been eating here since 2006 and it's kept up it's quality over the years. Stopped by KW area for gift of lights and purposefully came here for dinner beforehand. Was not disappointed!

Authentic Korean food. The Bibambap was good and came in a hot stone bowl.

Don't judge this place by the looks.. Food is top notch. Recommended if you want to try some different things.

This place is my number one restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. everytime I want to go to a good meal, this place comes immediately to my head. splendid and all sorts of food and a large list of dishes.courteous crew, and great mood. Also important, the expence is honest. I praise this restaurant with no hesitation.

Great food for reasonable pricing. We got the 2 person combo for $30 and got 3 dishes, 2 rice and 4 side dishes. Which is good value for all the food you get. Portion sizes are generous. My husband and I could barely finish by the end of the meal. The side dish fish cakes were very tasty as well as the mixed seafood noodles. The chicken teriyaki was a bit dry due to being overcooked, but still tasted very good. Definitely recommend for authentic Korean BBQ!

Good dumpling soup and tea

Awesome place to have something when in a hurry. The service is speedy, prices are reasonable, great vibes. I highly recommend this spot.

They are always so nice! I ask them for extra potato on the side and they never mind leaving. Perfect place to go!

Good food & nice price

Average black bean noodles, I've definitely had better. What I liked about it was the paste/sauce wasn't too salty but it lacked texture compared to other places I've tried. The noodles were way too soft and less chewy than expected- the noodles weren't soggy but it was just really soft in a weird way.

Went back to this place in July 2020.New rating is 4. Previous visit in 2018 was a 2star. Pork bone soup was great!

Ordered from doordash and it was amazing. Their pork bone stew was the best that I have ever had.

I've always had good food here. The service is always great as well. I've been coming here for lunch 3 to 4 times a month for over a year and I never thought to leave a review!The people that run this place are very nice and the food is consistent.

I ordered a pork bone soup. It comes with several small dishes and a rice. All are very tasty.

Solid variety of Korean food. A bit far from Waterloo campus, but worth coming out every so often. The flavours at this restaurant is quite refreshing compared to the locations in Waterloo plaza. Good place to come with a group of 4 and try out several different dishes from their combo menu.Fills up quite a bit during dinner hours, so get here early, or expect to wait a bit.

Hands down the best Korean restaurant in Kitchener! The store is run by a old Korean couple and they sell very authentic and homemade Korean food.Definitely recommend the seafood pancake and the galgi! The couple is really nice too and would refill your side dishes whenever you ask for them! Worth the visit

Got take out.... portions were Sooo small and taste was pretty bad and generic. meat was really hard to chew. Maybe eating in is better :(

Amazing, amazing, amazing!! Food is just so well made, tasty, perfect textures and flavour and a very tidy cozy and welcoming family restaurant atmosphere. Just perfect! B.t.w. the bibimbap is just mind blowing!
